Besides the outside of the building itself, the foyer entrance is a very impressionable element. While people may not always take note of a foyer 'the way it should be', they will notice a foyer that is 'not what it should or could be'. To that end there is a 'desirable appeal' factor that within reason, should be considered. For community visitors, who may not understand what the truth of the gospel is, sensory expectations most likely work on a wider/broader 'comfort bandwidth' - like first impressions, last impressions and everything else in between. The best approach is to have them feel they're stepping over a threshold towards comfortability that firstly they can feel. subsequently, moving on towards confidence, trust and acceptance on our part. Interestingly, we received a phone call from a U.S. Christian couple from Alabama, checking us out regarding our 'scriptural soundness' that they might feel 'safe' worshipping with us on a Sunday as they travelled through the area. That they would call to politely ask was both impressive and responsible. The gentleman had gathered some initial information from our website. Now imagine if you will, just how someone, not a Christian, might feel, walking through our doors (or yours) for the first time. Put yourself in their shoes. That person may already be walking some of the talk (Isaiah 55:6;Acts 2:37; Acts 10; 15:13-17). Even more-so, shouldn't we, in all aspects within our control?
